If you frequent my blog, you’ll notice that most of my posts include photos of people. I love people. I love moments and interactions. It brings me great joy to capture exactly that. I would occasionally be asked whether I was interested in landscape, nature or object photography and I would respond with a conservative, “I can appreciate it but it’s not really my thing.” Well, today I decided to challenge myself and shoot inanimate objects in obscure, unexpected locations. I did not know where I was going and had no set agenda. I was to drive up the 405 freeway, take any ‘ol exit, park on the curb, shoot no more than 15 minutes at the random location and then venture off. I must say that this was not an easy task for me because I had to find beauty in objects that don’t always translate initially as something beautiful. Here is my take:
